5.0 on Google · 25 reviewsOne-on-one with Deen Ali, Certified Functional Mobility Specialist

Myofascial release is hands-on pressure into the fascia, the connective tissue that networks your whole body, to free the restrictions that stretching alone cannot reach. At StretchOut Wellness in Tampa it is done one-on-one by Deen Ali as part of a Functional Mobility Technique session. Your first 60-minute visit is $70.

First visit is 60 minutes, half the usual $140. Wear athletic clothing, socks are required.

How it works

What happens in a myofascial release session

1

Find the restriction

Fascia is the connective tissue that networks the whole body. Deen assesses where it has locked down and which knot is stopping the muscle from letting go, because once you are in pain, stretching alone does not fix it.

2

Hold the pressure, breathe into it

Deen works the area with his hands, forearm or elbow, holding pressure into the fascia rather than rubbing over it, and keeps you at about a 5 out of 10. You breathe into the pressure the whole time.

3

Stretch through the new range

The release is followed by assisted stretching through the new range, so the gain is used straight away rather than lost by the car ride home. Plan on 60 minutes, athletic clothing and socks.

"First it is important that we understand what fascia is. Fascia is a connective tissue that networks the entire body. A myofascial trigger point blocks the communication between muscular regions. And doing myofascial release is not enough, so we have to be very specific and dig deeper."Deen Ali, from his clip on fascia and trigger points
Is myofascial release right for you?

Who it is for

  • Tightness that returns days after a massage or a stretch session
  • Pain in the neck, shoulders, hips or lower back that you have stopped expecting to go away
  • Desk work: sitting all day and carrying it in your neck and shoulders
  • Recovery after a car accident, surgery or a long injury layoff, once your doctor has cleared hands-on work
  • Athletes and lifters whose range of motion is limiting their performance

What it is not

  • Not a spa massage
  • Not physical therapy
  • Not a replacement for your doctor. With an acute injury, a fracture, a blood clot or an open wound, see your doctor first and bring the clearance

Real people, real timelines

What changed, and when

Pain since 2012
"Whenever she wakes up in the morning, the pain on the scale of 1 to 10 was at 8. By using therapeutic breathing, with a combination of assisted stretching, myofascial release and trigger point therapy, this woman today, when she wakes up, she does not have no pain. Right now she could landscape, she can travel, and she is actually free."

After the first month
"After just the first month of working with him, everything started to change. He helped release and realign my muscles, and I've been improving ever since. I can finally sleep through the night and move without pain."
M "Kidicuda", Google review, November 2025
After a car accident
"I started going to him for neck pain post a car accident but I didn't realize that my whole body needed a reset until I started seeing him. Deen is kind and compassionate and very knowledgeable in his field."

Questions people ask first

Myofascial release questions, answered straight

Does myofascial release hurt?

It is intense, not painful. Deen works to about a 5 out of 10 on your own scale and asks you to tell him the moment you get there. You breathe through the pressure the whole time, and most people feel looser within the same session rather than sore the next day.

What is the difference between myofascial release and a massage?

A massage glides over the muscle. Myofascial release holds specific, sustained pressure into the fascia restriction until it lets go, then the muscle is taken through its new range with assisted stretching. At StretchOut Wellness it is one part of a Functional Mobility Technique session alongside trigger point therapy and breathing, not a standalone spa treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

The first visit tells you. It is a 60-minute full-body assessment plus the release work your body needs on day one, and you leave with homework for the morning and for work. Reviews describe real change inside the first month: one client wrote that after just the first month everything started to change, another was four sessions in and feeling like a new body. Many clients then keep a monthly session as maintenance, which is their call, not a package you are sold.

Is myofascial release a separate price?

No. Myofascial release, trigger point therapy and therapeutic breathing are all included within every FMT session. Your first visit is $70 for 60 minutes, half the usual $140. After that it is $140 for 60 minutes or $200 for the 90-minute extended reset.

What should I wear, and what should I bring?

Athletic clothing you can move in, and socks, which are required on the table. If you are recovering from an injury, an accident or surgery, bring whatever your doctor has said about hands-on work, and tell Deen about anything that hurts before you lie down. There is a 24-hour cancellation notice.
