How it works

What happens on the table

1

The conversation, then the assessment

Deen asks why you came in, what you do for work and whether you mostly sit or stand. Then he assesses your body and connects what you told him to what he finds.

2

Release first, then the stretch

Stretching relaxes a tight muscle. It does not break down a knot. Deen releases the fascia and the trigger point first, then takes the joint through its range. Same table, same hour, no upsell.

3

Homework that holds the gains

You leave knowing what is tight, what is weak, and what to do when you wake up or when tension hits at work. Plan on 60 minutes, athletic clothing and socks.

"We are not like a traditional stretch place, because what we do here is not just assisted stretching. Functional Mobility Technique is the combination of assisted stretching, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and therapeutic breathing, to relieve pain and improve basic daily activities."Deen Ali, from the studio film
Is stretch therapy right for you?

Who it is for

  • Stiffness that has crept in with age or a desk, and the feeling that your body is smaller than it used to be
  • Lifters, runners, riders and golfers whose range of motion is the limit, not their strength
  • Coming back from injury, cleared for hands-on work, and wanting your movement back, not just the pain gone
  • Over 60 or 70. Deen's oldest clients train with the same technique at the pace their body sets

What it is not

  • Not physical therapy
  • Not a chiropractic adjustment
  • Not a replacement for your doctor. With an acute injury, or a diagnosis you are unsure about, bring their guidance to the first visit

Questions people ask first

Stretch therapy questions, answered straight

What is the difference between stretch therapy and assisted stretching?

Assisted stretching is someone moving your limb through a stretch for you, which feels great and does help with tightness. Stretch therapy is assisted stretching with a purpose: an assessment first, release of the fascia and trigger points that stop the muscle letting go, then the stretch through the new range. At StretchOut Wellness those are the same session, which is what the Functional Mobility Technique means.

How is this different from a stretch franchise?

Three things. It is one practitioner every time, Deen, so nobody has to re-learn your body. Sessions are in a private room. And myofascial release and trigger point therapy are part of the session, not something you are sent elsewhere for. The trade-off is honest: there is one table and one Deen, so book ahead.

How often should I come?

Most people start weekly for the first few sessions while the restrictions come down, then stretch it out to every two to four weeks. Deen tells you on day one what he thinks your body needs, and the homework between visits does a lot of the work. There is no package to buy up front.

What does stretch therapy cost in Tampa?

At StretchOut Wellness the first 60-minute session is $70, half the usual $140. After that it is $140 for 60 minutes or $200 for the 90-minute extended reset. Myofascial release, trigger point therapy and breathing are included, never billed as extras. Prices as listed on the booking page in October 2026.

What should I wear?

Athletic clothing you can move in, nothing restrictive. Socks are required on the table. Arrive a few minutes early for the first visit so the conversation does not eat into the hour. There is a 24-hour cancellation notice.
