Mobility, balance, and a lower back that stopped running the day
"Ali is the best! He has helped me increase my mobility and balance. Highly recommend!"
Phoenix McKinneyGoogle review, July 2026"He has helped me in many ways, from my neck to my lower back to my shoulders, and my joints feel a lot better. I definitely have more mobility, and I can definitely say that I feel better and I'm pain-free."
"I highly recommend Ali at Stretch Out Wellness as he continues to do excellent work and has helped me over the past 3 years."

The conversation, then the assessment
Day one starts with what you want back: the garden, the grandchildren, the golf course, the stairs without the handrail. Deen asks what hurts, what you've been told, and what you've quietly stopped doing. Then he goes through your whole body, at whatever range you've today, looking for the connection between what you told him and what he feels.
At your pace, never past a five
Nothing is forced. On a scale of one to ten, ten being pain, Deen doesn't want ten. He wants about a five, and you tell him the moment you get there. Where a knot is holding a hip or a shoulder, he releases it first, then takes the joint through the range it gives back, while you breathe. Breathing is how the muscle gets its oxygen, and it's the part you take home.
Homework for the first ten minutes of the day
You leave with two or three moves: one for getting out of bed, one for getting up from the chair, one for the moment the stiffness arrives. Most older clients start weekly while the restrictions come down, then stretch it out to every two to four weeks. There's no package to buy.
"On day one I need to understand the reason why you came in here, what you do for work, if you sit mainly or if you stand for the most part. Then I will assess your body. Then I will be giving you a homework that you can do in the house when you are up in the morning."Deen Ali, from his clip on the first visit
| The number | What it means on the table | Source |
|---|---|---|
| More than 1 in 4 adults aged 65 and older falls each year, and falling once doubles the chance of falling again | Lower-body weakness and balance difficulties are on the risk list, so hips and ankles get the work, and the homework is for the chair and the stairs | CDC, reviewed September 2026 |
| 6 to 7 degrees a decade of hip flexion lost after 55 | The stiffness is measurable and it's gradual, which is why nothing is forced and the range comes back the same way, gradually | Stathokostas and colleagues, 2013 |
| Two lines of stretching advice for older adults: remember to breathe, and don't stretch so far that it hurts | The same two lines Deen says on every table, and the reason the pressure never passes a five | National Institute on Aging, reviewed January 2025 |
Who it's for
- Stiff for the first half hour of every morning, and a little smaller in your movement every year
- Worried about balance, or about a fall, and told it's "just age" or "just arthritis" without being convinced
- After a knee or hip replacement, once your surgeon has cleared hands-on work
- A lifelong athlete who has no intention of stopping, and a hip that has other ideas
- Caring for someone, lifting and bending more than your back signed up for
What it's not
- Not physical therapy or medical care
- Not a class. One-on-one, in a private room, nobody watching
- Not a replacement for your doctor. With osteoporosis, a recent fracture or surgery, or blood thinners, bring their guidance to day one

What changed, and when
"Deen is very intuitive. He is the fascia whisperer! I'm only 4 sessions in and feeling like a new body already."
"I'd had a steroid shot and they wanted to send me for some therapy. When I got here I was still pretty stiff and very sore, but in the last few weeks I feel it less and less and less. The stretching makes all the difference in the world to stay limber and mobile at any point in your life, especially if you've been a lifelong athlete."
"Since I've been working with him, my mobility has increased. He's helped work out some problems that I've had for a lot of years with my lower back. I feel a lot more stable. I'm about 78, and I'm not restricted in anything I can do."
Stretching for seniors, questions answered straight
Is assisted stretching safe for seniors?
Yes, done at your pace. Nothing is forced, the pressure stays around a five out of ten on your own scale, never a ten, and Deen watches your face as closely as your hip, because wherever you're restricted, your face shows it first. If you've osteoporosis, a recent fracture or surgery, or take blood thinners, bring your doctor's guidance to the first visit and he works inside it.
Can stretching help my balance?
It helps the hips and ankles move through their full range, which is part of steady walking, and two clients here say their balance improved, one of them on video. The proven lever against falls, in the CDC's and the National Institute on Aging's guidance, is balance and strength training, so Deen pairs the stretch with homework and with whatever your doctor has told you about balance work. That's practitioner experience and two client reports, not a clinical claim.
I have had a hip or knee replaced. Can I still come?
Once your surgeon has cleared hands-on work, yes, and several clients come after a replacement or after physical therapy has finished. Bring the guidance. Deen works around the joint and inside the range you've been given, and the first visit's an assessment before anything else.
Do I need to be flexible already?
No. Day one is an assessment at whatever range you have, and the stretch starts from there. Stiffness is the reason to come, not a reason to wait, and the pace is set by your body, not by a timer.
What does it cost, and is there a membership?
The first 60-minute visit's $70, half the usual $140. After that it's $140 for 60 minutes or $200 for the 90-minute extended reset. There's no membership and no package; you book one session at a time, online or by phone. Prices as listed on the booking page in October 2026.
Is the studio easy to get into?
Yes. Free parking at the door, a wheelchair-accessible entrance, and one private room, so there's no gym floor to cross and nobody watching. The studio is across from Midtown Tampa, behind the Walter's Crossing Target, and you deal with Deen alone, from the first phone call to the table.
